The only thing you need is good grades when I was in school typical 3.5 or higher and you have a good chance at getting the job as long as you interview well. They wont even look at you if you have under that but let me talk to my buddy and see what teh requirments are now and Ill see what I can do. Like I said when i was trying to get a job it was a little bit harder but now I think its easier to get a good job due to shortages.
3.5 GPA... I failed. I messed up bad my first year at UCF. So I now have a 2.8?

let me talk to my buddy before you quit. I would imagine it depends on much they need someone and how many people are applying to. Plus knowing people helps. What year are you again? What accounting classes have you taken so far. That will help. Its not all overall GPA they look at your accounting GPA to.

Ryan, I asked our assistant controller, who just received her MAFM degree, if any of her school buddies or contacts are looking for people. I'll let you know.

And I'm glad that we get to discuss Ryan's job search in a thread about eating.

Thanks everyone for your help! I really appreciate it!

Dan, I'm going into my senior year. Towards the College of Busines classes, I've taken Quantitative Business Tools 1 & 2, Business Law & Ethics, and I just finished Marketing. I took Cornerstone, but as you know...I have to retake it. I have a 3.06 GPA in those classes. The only accounting classes I've taken are Managerial and Financial Accounting.

I've already been in contact with Jon @ Perfection Auto. I would love to haev a job with him, but I'm not sure I can accomodate my school schedule around it. The manager of Blue Martini had one of his security guys call me tonight and let me know he would hire me...but I'd like to get away from working til 3am. We will see what happens.

how much of a punch in the face would that be to switch from valet to security at Blu Martini...then you could give your Xmanager **** all the time....have his car towed and give him hell

Go for the security job....... I called my friend he said its getting pretty tough to get in with a good firm again. But if you want to more of an inside on it you should talk to Dr. Klintworth and see what she knows. She is old and a little scary but she knows a lot of people and she will tell you straight up.

Bottom line is you have to do what's best for you, eductation is certainly the priority. I might be able to accomodate a part time schedule (different from what we discussed), just keep in touch with me when you figure out your classes.
