Project swap #2

Well, today was the day. Since May 24, I've had my stock wheels on. For the past month or so, I've had the OEM front bumper on. It seems like it's been a lot longer than only a month . vSince December, I have had extremely loud, squeeling brakes. Today...all that changed.

I have to give a huge thanks to Ian who came over to my apartment around noon. We did not finish until about 10pm. Yeah, yeah, yeah...we are slow.

My car now has a freshly painted Kuruma bumper. The fitment and paint look a lot better! I also redid the mesh for the bumper. Instead of using 12-guage wire and epoxying one end on the bumper and folding the other end through the mesh, I actually used screws this time. That looks better as well.

The DPEs are finally back on. Man...how I've missed these. Ian and I spend a good hour or two using Mother Mag polish on the inside of the wheels. I can't have them looking ugly for HIN. These are honestly the cleanest the inside of my wheels have been since I bought them.

The brakes were a bitch. Since they have always squeeled, I applied a ton of Brake Quiet to the back of the pads last time I tryed. Getting all that crap off was a painstaking process. I don't have much skin left on my thumbs. Ian gave me the smart idea of using the brake shims off of the Brembos. So we put on the brake shims and cleaned the brakes up a bit.

Pictures will have to wait until tomorrow since it was dark when we finished. As you can see...I'm excited to have my car back to the way it was ...and better than before.

Good job guys. I'm glad I wasn't the only one working on my car all day. I just wish I was finished, like you.
