No, photos from my other two digicams come out good. I may return my rebelXT to Costco and get the new 10 MP G7.

Why don't you shoot higher res and save them on your computer adn not your card.

I like to print some of my photos in 8x10 size and frame them, so I need higher res, otherwise, you are right.

What lens do you use on your Rebel?

What's wrong with the pix?

I have the kit lens and a Canon telephoto. The pics just don't look as good as the ones I take with my point and shoot 4 MP SD410.

As JB put it once, when referring to me: "I think it's the photographer that's the problem, not the camera" If you would take the time to bother JB with all sorts of dslr questions like I do, I'm sure you'll quickly pick up all the tricks of the trade and start taking awesome pictures with your XT The XT is an excellent camera, I almost got one myself, unless you have a defective body or lens it should be 10x superior to your Digital Elph. As far as I know, it uses the same sensor as the 20D/30D.

I know it should take better pics, but I guess I'm not as adept at a DSLR as I thought.

I hope I didn't say it quite like that...

It seems that we often gravitate to photography discussions in someone elses thread. I don't want to hijack PsyCraft's thread, so I'm going to start a DSLR thread in the Members Only section. Hopefully everyone that's interested in photography will join in there.

Haha nah, not like that.. it was said in jest, but so true! I was starting to blame the camera for overexposing and was wondering why everyone else's pictures were exposed just fine A photography thread has been a long time coming
