We just got word back from Intense Motorsports on their prize donation. It includes an ABS front lip for the G35 and also a rear camber kit that can be used on a Z or G. Will update prize list.

 

sorry guys, the NX nitrous kit i donated will only work in a Z, cause Zs are the best and i really dont even think any Infinitis should be allowed, i mean, doesnt Toyota make them ????

I would like to keep it on track for those who don't know what the run is all about as I would encourage all our club members and those living in florida interested in helping/donating to this charity event to participate as I believe it will be lots of fun and a sight to see.

Below is what "The Run" is all about and where it came from:

Nissan came up with the idea of producing a DVD called "The Run" exclusively for the introduction of the 350Z. I don’t know about each of you, but our club thinks it is totally awesome that our cars have their own movie! The 350Z Club of Florida decided that since this DVD is model specific, we should start a tradition to have an annual event called "The Run". The DVD was originally produced in September of 2002. This event not only commemorates the DVD, but also serves as a birthday celebration for the 350Z. The movie was shot in the city of Prague. If you have seen the DVD some of the streets were brick and the car crosses a bridge. Well, on the route of “The Run” we tried to mimic the DVD as best we could. You will cross at least one bridge and even drive down some brick streets before it is all over. This road rally type event is two events in one. It is a “Poker Run” as well as a “Timed” event". There are great prizes for placing in the events as well as to be given away in a raffle. But one of the best things about this event is that all proceeds will be donated to Shriner’s Hospital. The Hospital is funded entirely by donations so we want to help the children the best we can! [note - The Run 2006 benefits Toys for Tots]

What is a Poker Run? How this Poker Run will work is that we will play five card draw without a re-draw. You play the cards you are dealt. You are dealt cards by stopping at the designated stops along the route of "The Run". At each stop you will draw a card from the deck. The Officer at that stop will write down your card. When you get to the end of the route you will recieve your final card and turn your hand in. At last years "The Run" three Aces won the NISMO suspension. Good Luck!

What is the Timed Event? This is an event within an event. Meaning while you are driving the route to collect your cards for the Poker Run you will be timed. The route has been driven many times and there is a time that the organizers of the event have that is based on the route with stops and driving around the speed limit (flow of traffic). The closest to this time will win this event and the 1st place prize is the NISMO Sway Bars with a Subwoofer enclosure custom made for the Z by Zenclosures.

Thanks Ian. The prizes for the poker run and timed run are different this year from whats posted above.

Grand prize for the Poker Run is the nismo exhaust, grand prize for the timed run is still TBA, but should be around par with last year's prize.

 

I just caught up with this thread and i think it's an awesome thing to do. I have done many toys-4-tots events in the past and it is a great program. I'm a recruiter in the area and is this being sponsored by the Marine reserve unit down on Gandy Blvd? Also, i would love to take the people currently enlisted in my pool that day and enjoy that. Who do i need to talk to about that, possibly helping out. Thanks,

That's correct. Our club president has been in contact with the reserve station for the event. I haven't been in direct contact so I'm not sure who the OIC or SNCOIC we're working with will be. If you'd like to have some of your recruiters assistance or poolees come out and give a hand I think that would be great. I'll have to get in contact with Dave to see if the reserve center marines would have any issues, but I don't see why they would. I think the reserve center marines will be taking up the donations at *** where The Run ends.

Maybe we can bring the Marine corps tent out and set up the pull up bar while we're over at Quaker Steak.

I'm in cali right now and will be heading to SEMA this week, but will look into this when I get back in Tampa next week. PM me if you need details or would like to give me a call.
