This event used to be called the V-10 Nationals...it was strictly Vipers. Last year, I witnessed Chad set the world record for a stock 6-speed 1/4 mile time at 8.75 @ 168mph. It was a TT Viper with something like 1400rwhp.

This year, the event is being opened to other high end cars and personal invites. So far, there is a confirmed Ferrari Enzo, a few Ford GTs, and a Saleen S7. I met the owner of the Saleen S7 at the last TampaRacing Track Day at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Who knows what other types of cars will be there?

Funny thing is i randomly saw this last year too. I just happened to be driving by the drag strip on my way to do something else, and stopped in. Maybe i'll do it again this year.

Shoot, if i'm not too tired after "The Run" i'd like to see this as well..."The Run" ends in Bradenton too if i'm not mistaken. How far away is the drag strip from Bradenton Nissan?

Ryan, can you confirm that this event is open to the public on Sunday? It looks like it is a "private event" on Sunday.

 

It's a private event as in who can race. Anyone can go watch.

just now figuring out that he invited me to run in the exhibition class, which is a lot of practice runs but no race for money with the big dogs. i wrote him back and said not to underestimate my driving or the car and i want to run for money.....


now, we are thinking two things, either he doesnt think i am serious or doesnt want a japenese car to win. i think its the later of the two....

we will see, it will be fun either way, i just want to beat up on some real cars..

 

congrats bro!. we'll definitely be there cheering you on. you should definitely try to run for $, just me subtle about it. that way, you can surprise the hell out of them.
