not as fast as you think... countyline drags

spent a day at the drags sunday, with my 03 g35 coupe auto. had a lot of fun chasing 350zzzz. a couple of wins, more losses. 1/8 mile times ran from 10's(no traction) to9.9 -9.8 9.7 . best and last run 9.6 -14.9 1/4 mile. car has borla ex.,unor.crank pullys, coldair ind.,crawford plenium intake. i was a little disapointed, but now i know where i stand, could'nt seem to find any g's out there. what's up??? DON'T NO UNLESS YOU GO!!! REPRESENT!!!!!!!

at least you got to run. its always nice to say you did.

1st time - k&n drop-in, heavy 19s - i ran 14.9
2nd time - injen cai, injen td ses, crawford plenum, heavy 19s - 14.9

the 2nd time though i accidentally left vdc on. i might be closer to 14.7-14.8 but its all good. if i ever get a chance, im changing to lightweight wheels.

9.6 at 1/8th and only 14.9 for 1/4? that seems weird...
what was ur 1/8th trap speed? and 1/4th speed?

i have an '03 auto and when i had stock rims and Ztube/Popcharger I was running the 1/8 at around 9.6/9.7 and quarters were at 14.6 consistently.

LOL my first run at the track i was up against a Sentra R type and I forgot the VDC was on and just slammed the gas when the tree turned green i the power was cut and i didnt go anywhere. The Sentra had at least a 8 car length lead I got it going then and beat teh Sentra by a fender with a 15.9. LOL. My second and third run I ran a 14.56 and 14.6 after that consistently that was on bad tires to. The 14.56 I had really bad reaction time but that doesnt figure into my 1/4 mile time at least i dont think.

1st run - 9.68 1/8 - 14.98 1/4 - mostly stock
2nd run - 9.78 1/8 - 14.90 1/4 - modded

seems like i have a little more top end since the 2nd run im sure vdc slowed my 1/8.

ps its spare...

since the strip i went to is only 1/8 mile, i used a conversion chart to estimate 9.6-1/8 mile to 14.9 1/4 mile. a 14.6 is a reasonable number for you, or me. 60ft. time-2.352 1/8 trap-78.1, how quick will an automatic go in a 1/4 mile, without forced induction? i'd like to know..

78mph is definitely respectable for an 1/8th trap. With a 2.2 flat, that would put you at around 9.3 in the 1/8th.

ya my 9.6 1/8 was a 76mph trap. you're probably at 14.6 in the 1/4.
