Umm no not exctaly unless you got a criminal record of anything to do with firearms you can still legally own one. And keep it inside your car AS LONG as its not loaded and its locked in the glove compartment box or the trunk. Oh ya and the ammo has to be separate from the gun. Like gun in glove compartment and ammo in trunk.

We don't have to do that in Florida. We can have a loaded gun in the car as long as it is securely encased, as in a glovebox or case, just not concealed on your person, unless you have a concealed weapons permit, in which case you can keep it anywhere in your car as long as it isn't in the open.
