if you are really worried about it mold it to the bumper. I know its a more expensive to do that but if you want the piece of mind mold it.
I used to use GE Silicon sealer for all kinds of stuff... intake manifold gaskets... sealing bolt-together wheels... how about using that along the top ridge? It wouldn't show because it drys clear.
The only down side would be that it might eat into the paint between the two pieces... but, it wouldn't ever show unless the lip came off.

ive got a clear bra on the bumper so that'll protect it. molding is too permanent and expensive. ill throw it on there with my idea friday and oh well if it comes off.

^the tape failed. im thinking its not thick enough to stick adequately so thats why im going to try a double layer so make sure it contacts both surfaces.Originally Posted by Psycraft
it was the 3m tape that came with it that messed it up,i had it on less than a month and it got destroyed, the 3m tape came apart from the middle bumper and flew back under the bumper..unreal i have to say..their has to be a better way to put this thing

I just wanted to know if there was enough stress on the lip to break off near the brackets. Two layers of tape should fix it. I will do it this weekend.
tons of props to sean for his help and teaching yesterday. we got a ton done on my car - installed rear toe bolts, replaced front speed sensor brackets, replaced differential fluid and installed my new lip.
getting started

up she goes

diff fluid draining - so simple, only 2 caps

sean the perfectionist was smart enough to color the top of the tape so it doesnt show

bottom brackets

sections of tape - we used 3 layers but it seems 4 might have work better in some places

finished product

2 sweet g's
