Selling the G soon..

Looking for some feedback from local (Florida, etc..) people who have sold their coupes/sedans via 3rd party or trade-in/Carmax. Who was able to offer you a better price? Trading/Selling to an Infiniti dealer, has anyone gotten a Carmax offer vs. Infiniti? How long does an appraisal usually take? Aside from making it look flawless what else should I be aware of while having it appraised. I have contacted I.O.C.C. and a local Carmax but been unable to set aside the time to take it by. I guess the worst thing is I get a free inspection report?!?

I prefer to sell to a private individual but I am curious as to what kind of money a dealer or Carmax would offer. Any info is appreciated. Btw, trading for the G37 not saying bye bye to Infiniti just yet!! GogoG35!!

P.S. Got a few things for sale in the members only forum!

I went to a used car dealership that was affiliated with a Infiniti dealership and they offered me about 1000 over blue book. This was also right before the new one was announced so that probably wouldn't be true if i tried it today. I tried seeing if Lokey would be interested but their offer was about 8,000 less then everyone elses so I declined. Try 3rd party for a while but don't be afraid to see what a dealership will offer you. Also try Best offer option on Ebay. My mom just sold her Saab that way and was around 5000 over what dealerships were offering her.

I took my kid's 99' Honda Accord EX coupe to CarMax and they offered me $4k...we sold it to a private party for $6500...they pretty much give you a wholesale kind of price with no negotiations...

I've sold two cars on Autotrader.com in less than a week.

Your car would have no trouble being sold that way. Why lose several thousand dollars going 3rd party?

Im a tech guy, deff not a salesman.

Find out what the estimated price of your car is:

http://www.kbb.com

http://www.edmunds.com/

Even the lower "Private party" price is higher than the highest "Trade in".

Good luck
