New High Flow Cats + HKS Exhaust = Too Loud!

Okay..has anyone else had this problem? This past saturday, I just installed my Kinetix high flow cats. (Which by the way, are of nice quality, perfect fit, no rasp) The install went fairly smooth, except for one bolt on the driver side cat that was a b*tch to get off, because the steering linkage is in the way, argh....but other than that, pretty straight forward.

I was pretty sure these cats would flow better, but damit, apparently they flow too well, ahahah.. Cuz now my HKS exhaust is freakin loud. Maybe this might sound great to some, but to me...i'm almost embarrassed to drive around in the G! So they've been on a total of about 20 miles, and I'm taking them off.

I think If i had a stock exhaust, then high flow cats , that would be perfect. because you would still sound like a G, just a tad louder. But true dual exhausts plus cats = ugh... So i guess it's one or the other... I'll just keep my hks exhaust and go back to stock cats... I don't know how some of you guys are running true duals with test pipes. That must be freakin loud! lol..

If anyone is interested in some high flow cats, they'll come off this saturday. I bought them brand new from GAperformance here on the boards a week or two ago. They're basically brand new. Just went for a test drive, looked at my wife, she gave me this *look* and hahaha...yeah pulled it back in the garage, and they are coming out.

shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Thanks, Jon.

I'd leave them on for a while. They seem a lot louder in the beginning, but you'll get used to them... and probably love them.

I have Crawford Headers and Cats with the HKS exhaust and love it... Maybe the Kenetix Cats are louder than the Crawford, but I wouldn't think by much... Half the Mustangs and Corvettes in Tampa are louder than my car.

Anyway, it's your car. I'd say give it some time...

I don't think there is a better combo out there...HKS and hi-flow cats sound perfect.

what do you guys think would flow better? Stock cats w/ HKS true dual or Stock exhaust w/ high flow cats? (maybe I should slap my stock exhaust back on and just see for myself? haha)

Also, for my Kinetix high flow cats, that have been used for a pitiful 20 miles..I'll probably sell them for $300 shipped. Seeing as shipping will cost probably 25-30 bucks, I think that's a good deal. My loss is your gain. Once again, these are basically brand new. No stains, marks, scratches, dings, etc...

If someone local to JAX wants them, that would be even better, and I would deliver them.

Thanks, Jon.
