What do you do .....

what do you guys think of people that accept your offer on a product and then back out saying that they have sold it to someone else. I made an offer to Dtor about a bar he had. I got a PM back saying "sounds good to me" and a paypal address to pay. I sent the payment, figuring it was mine by agreement, and that was an accepted offer. This morning I get a PM saying "sorry ,sold it to someone else". Is there no ones word that is good anymore, did'nt really expect this from someone with a 18 rating, but again, I do take people at their word.

yeah most people always have two or three people looking to buy so most just sell to the first one to send the cash

or what happend to me once, i was selling my old headlight and i had a buyer in europe and he was ready to send payment. when a good friend of mine got his stolen so instead of selling them and shipping to europe i sold them to my friend.

kinda sux but sometimes its easier to sell local than having to worry bout shipping

that is completely dependent on when you sent the payment. If you sent it immediately after you got the email, yeah i would say that is messed up. If you waited to send the payment then that's the risk you take and the seller has the right to sell it to the first person who pays.

dont know, there are lots of things that could have happened. he prolly had someone pay him right before you did. ive been beaten out by that and it does suck a$$. and im also had to do it to some people before as well. where 2 people send me payment for the same thing and really the only fair way is to go by who sent payment first.

on a side note. i know darrin met him a couple times. hes a good guy. dont think he would be out to just screw you over.

it sucks when you're on the receiving end but at the same time, you'd do the same to help out a friend.
