County Line Drag 12/07/07 anyone?

It was my first time out there. Went with the intentions of just watching my 2 brother's run their cars (an RX8 with minor mods, and a 2000 Jetta that finally got finished and is putting down 415hp to the wheels on a small 4 cylinder )

Anyways, just wanted to say that I had a great time out there and will be going again next Friday. Figured I'd see if I can get any G's to join me out there for either some runs, or just some beer and a good time.

I'm also gonna throw my stocks back on next week and run. Was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best way to launch an automatic? Should I have VDC on or off? Should I put my foot on the brake and raise up the RPM's before launch, or should I just stomp the gas on the green? I've never run my car at a strip before, so I'm really excited, but not totally sure what the best method is. I told my little brother that im gonna mop the floor with his RX8, but hes been running for a while now and launches well. Any input would be appreciated, and anyone that wants to join would also be appreciated. Guess I'll start a list:

Okechobee and Krome ave.

From Miami, take the Turnpike north to Okechobee. Head West till you see the light for Krome. It will be the first right immediately after the light.

For those who said I should hold the break and launch from there, what RPM do you recommend I launch at? Or is this something I'm just gonna have to feel out for myself? I'd like nothing better than to pull up to the line and smoke my brother on the first run.
