do u insure your wheels?

Hey yall i got a question about wheels... i'm supposed to get some wheels in feb and i was wondering do u guys have the wheels covered on your insurance policy or are they automatically covered since they are on the car.. How does that work cuz i was thinking about covering my wheels in case somethings happens.

Also is there someone in south florida that can help me roll the fenders?

It depends on the cost of the wheels and your deducible. I intend to insure my wheels (>$1,000), when they are on.

Your AF wheels are covered through a standard policy?

It depends on your auto policy. Some require an aftermarket parts endorsement and additional premium. Other companies auto matically reimburse you if you have the receipt. Talk to your agent.

I got the wheel and tire package from the dealer. They cover aftermarket rims also, so I figured it was a decent deal.

Heh if I were you I wouldn't mention anything to them about wheels and wouldn't put a claim in unless your whole car was missing!

This doesn't apply to just wheels. With some insurance policies, unless you have an endorsement for aftermarket parts, things such as your stereo and other aftermarket parts may not be covered. You will get OEM part replacement, if anything. Other insurers are more liberal and provide coverage for mods without additional endorsements.

Well they sent me a letter, but they didn't say i was dropped or cancel anything like that. It's not a claim, i just want to insure the rims i'm getting..

if i remember right theres an aftermarket section u can add a value to the aftermarket parts installed on ur car. for ex mine was

3000 for wheels
500 for front lip

and they determine how much extra it will be from there. my wheel ins is only at 1000 now. when i smacked into a curb and rashed up my sevas they gave me money for a new wheel instead of just having it fixed!
