I have been driving on my bald BFG drag radials for a few weeks now. I haven't driven my car in 4 days since it last rained...my car was all over the place going over 30mph with barely any water on the road. It was a little scary.

So I heard about AK Tires on Tamparacing and went over there today. They are located off of Ulmerton Rd, just behind the Clearwater Airport. It was kind of cool watching the US Coast Guard planes flying right over us while I waited. They have tons of used tires and new tires to choose from.

I went with the stock 245/45/18 Michellin Pilot Sport. I paid $30/tire and they should last me another 10k miles or so. The guys there were very friendly. I also bought Lauren some 17" tires for her Z since her rears are bald. It was $30/tires for those and then $15/tire for mount and balancing.

not bad i've been doing the used tires thing for the last 2 purchases cuz i've been stashing money for rims and hate the idea of 150/tire for something i might get 3-4k miles more out of then a nice set of used tires. i'll try these guys on my next purchase, cuz usually i just call all the tire places and ask them if they have 2 in my size.

 

how much for 19s, my dad runs to tampa all the time. it would be nice to get a set of 4 tires for the same price as one new rear tire lol

 

They need to do an update to their Site real bad. You have anymore info on Tires, Wheels, Sizes, Prices, etc...?? or... Are they more geared to Stock Sizes, OEM product, and what not?

 

They have pretty much any used tire... KDWs, Pilot Sports, Continentals, Falkens...those are jus some that I saw.

I know i saw that they sell new Falkens, Nexxen, and a few others.

I paid $30/tire for my 245/45/18 Pilot Sports and I didn't hear him name a price that was more than that per tire.

Yep I need a set of nitto 275/30/20's.
