Possibly getting a new car...help

Hows it goin fellas. My dad asked me if I wanted a new car for my 21st birthday (September 9th), and honestly I dont want a new car. The Price range would have to be under 45-50Gs. The only car I have been interested is the G37, and possibly the 335i. So please chime in and throws some ideas my way. I really dont want to part ways with my G35, but if I find something I really like, than ill probably jump on it.

Etien please chime in here and let me know what u think about moving from a G35 to a G37. Mine is an 04, so I didnt have the memory seats lol. What do you like about it? Thanks everyone.

g37 for a better ride and features. lower it, add wheels and you're done.

for 50k i'd rock a used 911, NSX, M5, Benz SL, or any of the AMG benzos..

but if you're really thinking, ask him to drop that 50k as a down payment on a house for you.

Why don't you turbo the G35?

If you really like the G35, you might as well keep it. If you're not ready to move on, don't spend money just to spend money. On a side note, both the G37 and 335i are amazing cars.

Sell the G and buy a used M5 or new M3.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I forgot to mention that the 45-50G limit was after trade in/ sale of the car. Infiniti of Tampa, which is where I got the G offered 17K for my car (56,XXX miles) with 1.9% for 60 months. So if my dad decided to finance hed be looking somewhere under 30K. I completely agree, 50K would be a nice down payment for a condo/home. As for suggestions to throwin a turbo on the G, Id love to, but I know realize cars a just money pits lol. I want a nice luxury sports car (which is why i chose a G35) and like Lyndon said throw on a nice set of wheels and drop it. I feel like i went the wrong path with the G35 by adding BS stuff to it. Turbo or supercharging it will do me no good, more gas plus i wont track it. G37 is looking the most promising, although a Cayman would be nice. But id like to have the peice of mind of a back seat, just in case.

Thanks again guys, Etien if u read this gimme your input. Till than im going to try to be a good son and tell my dad to keep the money, and not worry about a car for me, but invest it somehow.

g37 is everything you want and practical dude. until you have your own $ to blow, i wouldnt start wasting it on excess stuff you need. sure porsches and bmws are sweet, but you have to ask yourself if you're really going to push the car or just cruise.

if your car is giving you problems, upgrade to something, but why just burn money when you like the current car? Go for a semi-conservative FI setup that'll last from forged or Performance Fac and call it a day.

Use the rest for the "investment experimentation fund" Ask if you can put $3k toward some mutual funds, $2k to stock market and $5k to other investments.

Cars aren't the greatest investment... just short term, short lived happiness

I dislike the look of the G37, so I would pickup a 335xi coupe.

I went from a G35 to G37S and I love it. It is sooo much better than my 03. The interior and features are way better and it is noticibly faster than my 35 was. Ride is great. Like Wo said, with the 37 a drop is a must. I say go for it. You wont be disappointed.
