So how's training so far this week V? Are you going to be mainly involved with on the floor sales or with the Internet dept? Anyway hope you find a reliable peer to look after as a newbie, that's always important to maintain your success during the first year

Doug, ill be training and getting certified, hopefully ill be fully certified by tomorrow or Monday. Then more classes and hopefully ill start shadowing on the floor after 2 weeks. Then around the month mark we will be on the floor by ourselves.

Apparently after I am fully certified I can technically make a sale. If its within my first month it doesn't get taken out of my draw I think.

^ That sounds great Veronica! When I started back in July, I didn't get my certification until late August since I had to take all these time-consuming online courses and tests. But I didn't have to wait for my certification to make a sale; I hit the floor sales after the first 10 days of training. Yeah I remember I had to job shadow for a little while as well.

How many other new hires are you working with? Are you also assigned to do some mystery shopping at other dealers? (That's usually kind of fun)

Oh okay, yeah those online courses really are time consuming! But I'm learning a lot. We are going to be given some internet leads starting next week to build up our clientele. Who knows, maybe something will work itself out I'm training with one other girl. We haven't shopped any other dealers yet but our trainer did a few last week and she said the results weren't that great for those other dealerships

Its like secret shopper, you just pretend to be a customer by either emailing or calling, to see how they respond to you. Its a good training tool to see what you should and shouldn't do/say as the salesperson.

I don't think he would have purchased. It was kind of a now-or-never thing

Congrats on the 1st sale Veronica. It's usually a little nerve-wracking to get across that first one but I see it as not a difficult experience. Hopefully the next one you make will be a high-gross sale

BTW do you guys go by a rotation list when "upping" customers? Have you gotten down some of the slang terms used on the sales floor like "be-back", "we owe", "stroker", etc.?
