^The free version is... the one you pay for has firewall and live protection.
^Or you could just go download the malware you're trying to stop... it would be easier.
Honestly both of these SUCK. Norton was really good software back in the day, but it's completely went to crap.
McAfee is, and always has been, a complete system hog with 10,000 annoying messages.
Trend-Micro and AVG are decent, but I've had them let stuff slip through before, and neither one are remotely close to Malwarebytes ability to clean up an existing problem.

I run AVG with malewarebyte to cover all bases (in case something slips through AVG). btw, sorry i couldn't make the meet yesterday, i am currently sitting in the Philly airport waiting to get on my plane to Munich! Never been to europe before, so this will be a first for me. I CANT WAIT!!!!
WOW, i just sat here and watched back to back shows on Discovery HD about Aliens and how NASA and Japan created a satellite that can pick up radio signals of so many kinds over 60 million light years away.. And how they are shooting random Hello signals ( they call it) in random directions that can travel 60 million light years into space. In hopes that some alien will here it.
mcafee and norton are crap. they're system hogs. malwarebytes is excellent but its mostly for spyware. avg, kapersky and avast are 3 good, free anti-virus programs. personally i run avg.
Lol awesome show. What are the possibilities that there could be another earth in another universe with people just like us. And on that planet every car Is FI. Ahh what a beautiful planet that may be
