So, I know this maybe kind of a newb question, but where would you start with exhaust and why?

Cats would make the biggest difference for power/torque?
Or maybe Y pipe?
Axleback/muffler would be the biggest impact on sound, yea?

I'm thinking of doing thing piece by piece since my funds will be limited for quite a while. Where should I start?
