Transmission whine normal?
I've search the forums for this and havn't had any luck so I figured a quick question would put my mind at ease. I've only had my 03 G35 for about 3 weeks now and I notice that whenever I have the clutch pushed it the transmission immediately makes a whining sound. I'm thinking its normal since a lot of people have said he was a loud transmission in general. Just wanted to make sure though. Is there any way to make the trasmission more quiet? For example lubrication or drain and fill trans oil? The car has 84,000 miles but it shifts like new. Just so damn loud!!

Hmm, whine? I haven't read about that one. But something which is very common is flywheel chatter or the throwout bearing. The way your describing it, it doesn't sound like that would be it.
But to describe what I'm talking about. After driving the car for a while, you put it in neutral, and let out the clutch, you'll hear it rattling. It goes away when you push in the clutch pedal again. But I definitely wouldn't describe it as whining. And it happens with the clutch pedal is out and in neutral.

well it only makes any sound at all when the clutch is pushed in. Even if I just baby tap the clutch you can immediately hear the "whine" ... I especially noticed it when I was in a drive through and i could hear the sound bounce of the building next to me. Should the transmission make any sound at all when the clutch is pushed in?
