Not sure how spray paint will hold up to the heat or hose flexing.

Paint won't hold up. Trust me.

Electrical tape might work, but sometimes it can be quick to fade

 

I used that high temp paint on my plenum. Works great with the heat but you will most likely see spidering in the finish if you paint the tubes. I don't think it can handle much flex.

Rest assured that sponge is designed to scrape bugs off the bumper, will not damage paint at all. Proper Auto did a detailing event with our club and used that very sponge to removed love bugs. Great product. Use it wisely!
