Two Bulgarian women find hidden cameras throughout apartment near Westchase
Someone was getting some good flapping time.
Two female Bulgarian students found cameras in their apartment that they said have been trained on their every move, from going to sleep to taking showers.
Hillsborough sheriff's deputies found hidden cameras in the apartment at 12028 Tuscany Bay Drive Monday when they responded to the students' complaint. The cameras, officials said, were found in the bedrooms, living room and bathroom.
Vanya Amokovareva, 22, and Ralitsa Dzhambazova, 23, have lived in the Westchase apartment for three months, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The women first thought the cameras were smoke detectors, they told officials. Deputies said the cameras appeared to be smoke detectors or motion sensors at first glance.
Samokovareva told Bay News 9 she taped a piece of paper to block the view of a camera aimed at the shower.
It was not immediately clear if the system has been active and if the cameras were being recorded at a remote location or broadcast over the internet.
No suspects were immediately named in the case.
"I'm feeling very bad," Samokovareva told Bay News 9. She hopes the investigation will prevent this from happening again.
