definitely all good points. but say it was me, i doubt i would have tried to fight them with no formal training. i would have either given up everything or pulled my gun if i was carrying. of course i rarely carry, it stays in the car since thats usually the focus of most negative attention. again im just trying to foster a discussion as ive read numerous real and made up situations on my xd forums and im just curious as to other peoples viewpoints.

/\ to many repercussions if you pull a gun in that situation. Your word against 4-5 others. Unless of course you take them all down.I don't think an azz woopin counts for use of deadly force in this situation.

Bad part is you have to prove it in court. I wouldn't take my chance in this instance, just sayin.

I believe the law says if you are in fear of being killed or seriously injured you can use deadly force. Then again you will have to prove that in court. 3 year sentence if convicted if you exhibit your firearm an threaten someone with it.Ever heard the expression, " Shoot first and ask questions later"?

I don’t think anyone has any idea on how hard it is to take a life even if it is in self defense. Whether you have training or not it's not as easy as it sounds. It takes a lot to pull that trigger specially if you have taken a life before or have been surrounded by death. I think all ppl can change and we all make mistakes, so why take a life over something so stupid. I can take a beating and all wounds heal. But you can never give life back. It could be your brother, friend, son or boyfriend (not judging). That’s why I didn't pull out that gun. I’m not in combat and it wasn’t an order. Trust me if my life or anyone elses really was in danger I would have known and things would have been different. And yes in the state of FL I don’t have to retreat any more. If I fear for my life (or serious bodily harm) or someone else’s I can shoot to kill. In that scenario It was strong arm; 5 against 1 so if I shot to kill I would have been justified. Not hard to prove. But it's not worth it. And to those who think they wouldn’t have a problem taking a life I can prove to you it's not that easy, especially when you have done it before (unless you are messed up in the head like a serial killer). On that note…. Who want to go to the shooting range with me? Start a thread if you’re in and I’ll provide the guns and pointers for tactical shooting.
