Morning guys

My g has a problem at slow speeds (<35) I hear a whinning noise coming from my left rear. The car has had it for a 2-3 months now but recently it's gotten louder. Yesterday I jacked up the car took of the tire and to me it looks like the brake pad is sitting on the rotor. My dad who is a Nissan tech is saying that's not the issue that's there's a sort red rust spots in the middle bore. That means the axel is loose that we should take it out lube it back up and put it back it. I think it's the rotor but then again I changed the brakes over 6 months ago why would have this noise only start 2-3 months ago anyone else ever had this problem

Thats weird.... did you have uneven wear on the pad as well? Maybe a wheel bearing?

For what it's worth...

About a year ago, I removed both sides of my rear axle and relubed them. The spot I regreased is where the splined end of the axle goes into the spindle/hub, as well as the flange surface. Anyways, the reason I did that was because it was making noise: the infamous axle click.

It's a well known issue, and for those of you who haven't heard about it, it usually happens when you accelerate, either from a standstill, or from a slower speed. It's also very noticeable when you reverse, too. The change in torque will cause noise that sounds like clicking. Meaning, you hear the sound when you're changing speeds, not while you're cruising at a low speed or something like that. Anyways, what you're describing doesn't sound like that to me, but it probably wouldn't hurt to regrease the axle.

What you're describing reminds me of bad wheel bearing in the hub. From what I've heard, it may result in having to replace the whole knuckle. Hopefully not! This is a common problem, too.

Regarding the brakes, the sound is probably not related to that. If it was a stuck pad, it would feel like it's pulling as you're driving. Also, there would be abnormal wear (which you can easily check for). I've seen uneven pad wear often (even on my car) and there are no noticeable sounds because of it.

It's not the infamous axel clicking, my car had that too when I first got it and I pulled out the axel, regreased them and they were good, this is a totally different sound. I'm hoping its not the wheel bearing but honestly that's what it sounds like
