We drafted the bylaws last weekend in Orlando.. waiting on Jason to review them and make the necessary corrections/additions. They'll be up together with the articles of incorporation on the club website.

Quoting Todd's post:

We will be sending out the ballots and the candidates write ups in the next week or two for the first FGC BOD. Each person will have to fill out the voting ballot for their Chapter and then mail it back in (hope you're all good for a $.37 stamp and an envelope ). Then we will convein and certify the election and announce the new BOD at the March 5th Lokey Infiniti meet.

Good question. Right now FLFIRE and g8tor20 are adding inputs, and finalizing the bylaws. Basically we have a good "rough draft" of how things will be run, who has what responsibilities, how voting will be handled and who can vote for whom. The voting thing is the toughest part and hopefully Jason will be able to hook up with me this weekend to work out a final few issues.

Recap:

-The Articles of Incorporation are completed. The checks have been written (by me personally) for the filing fees with the state of FL and for the fictitious name. Today I'll be getting everything notarized and send back to g8tor20 for his final review and submittal. Then in a week or two we'll file with the IRS.

-I also have to pay for the $1M liability insurance policy before March 5th (another personal expense). I'll be doing this towards the end of the month.

-This Friday, Demonteverde321 and I will be ordering 100 FGC t-shirts for the "All Florida Meet". (I'll also pay for these items with my own funds.)

-Hopefully we can have our first election on/around February 19th 2005. (Jason, are you reading this? ) This would allow me to set a deadline for Feb. 25th where all of the ballots would have to be printed out, filled out and signed and then mailed to the Club's P.O. Box (which I've already paid for with my personal funds). This would allow Dabomb, Demonteverde321 and myself the time to get together BEFORE THE LOKEY MEET, on/around March 1st 2005 and have the first official BOD meeting and certify the election. This way we could announce the officers on March 5th at the Lokey Meet. We could also vote to have the club pay me back for all of my personal expenses so that I'm not floating the club any more!

-Finally we'd need to get a club bank account and transfer the club funds from paypal into the club account.

I think that's about it. If I've left out anything just ask.

BTW, (I know you were interested in this) we did approve the 21 year old age limit for any person serving on the Board of Directors. I don't remember the exact wording, but rest assured that this was done with the clubs best interests in mind. Hope you understand.
