Longer to find the tools......

It took longer to find the tools to install the Z-tube than it did to install it. Thanks to all who posted those excellent install instructions on the forums, and recommended the mod. Now I have the itch for something else to do under the hood.

WATCH OUT! The hose clamp that goes around the bottom portion of your z-tube is very close to your A/C line. You should "adjust" the bracket near the plenum and then get some insulative hose/tubing and wrap it around your A/C line.

OK, i just looked at the install, and there is plenty of room where the aformentioned rubbing has been occuring on other installs. is it possible since i have an '05 and only installed the Z-tube, and kept the stock airbox, this may be a non issue? maybe the line runs a bit differently than on earlier years?? the AC line is like an inch away from the closest surface that could rub against it....

i'll keep checking though, at least for the first few miles to be sure......neff, thanks again for the tip.

If it's that far away don't worry about it. I have an '03 and mine's fine so it's not earlier years having this problem. It happens more with people who remove their stock airbox although some people have had the problem even with their stock airbox. I guess we're the lucky one's.

i have found no rhyme or reason as to which cars have the problem...

obviously the A/C lines have an 1/2" sway as to where it will be on each car...
