Windshield issue

I had my hood repainted and when I picked up the car I noticed some overspray on the windshield. After I cleaned the windshield with some gasoline, and then some Mothers cleaner/polish, I got all the visible overspray off. But now when the car is being driven towards the sun, it looks like there are a million little specs across the windshield! Could this still be overspary that can't be seen from the outside of the car? Or did I damage the glass somehow?

Try windex, a paper towel and a sharp razor blade. Spray the windex on the window and while wet, scrape the glass with the razor blade. Do this in an area the size of a baseball then take the car out for a spin to see if this removes the contaminent.

If that doesn't work try calling around to several detailing shops and see what they recommend.

FINE steel wool with window cleaner also works wonders on glass- that's a detailer trick.

If it is still visible after that, you might actually be seeing road debris damage. Sand thrown up by vehicles in front of you on the highway will cause this type of damage, especially once you rack up mileage. That's why a new car's windshield has such great clarity, because we are used to "weathered" windshields.

Good luck!

thanks for the tips. can't attribute to road debris. it was fine when it went in for painting. i actually had the windshield replaced already a month or so ago, so it is in great shape, except for what i am seeing since the paint job. i think i'll wander by the body shop and see what they think.
