Damn you guys, you pick the day I can't be out there. BTW I'm pretty sure I have my N20 issues worked out. There's always next time. Also be prepared to get crap for not wearing a helmet if you run 13.5 or faster. I got a lot of crap after my 13.1 run and my car wasn't even running right.

Matt,

Since only Alan signed up to be "tentative" and since gas is so scarce as of late I've decided to put it off a week and go next Friday. I'm hoping that we can get a few more people to attend (and I'm trying to convince G8tor20 that he needs a pre and post valve body run...) so how about we make the date Sept. 9th!

For the record. Excuses #1-9, 13, 16, 19, and 23 all are still in effect for September 9th too.

PS. I MAY be able to make it. I am going to Miami that night..so...if the track opens up early enough, I MAY go.

I'll help if you need a hand. I know this car like the back of my hand. It'll be like old times at the drag strip. Give me a hollar tomorrow.

Good luck to you guys going down the strip. Last time I was out at Speedworld, on my GSXR 1000, I ended up riding the guardrail for longer than I care after the bike spun out. I'm done with drag racing.

I still like to watch though.

I almost did the same on my 1000RR. I rode through the 330 mark on the rear wheel, it came down and got squirley and I still ran a 10.4 at 143. I feel you though man. Last time I was at Jennings the bike wound up with a busted rear subframe, screen, right upper fairing, clipon, etc. I had so much sand in my ear I thought I went deaf and I wear molded earplugs. Glad you are ok. Why not take the cage? I'm not worried about getting injured in it.

I wasn't hurt too bad. It was just a bruse on my left leg and some rash on my left nee where it was trapped between the guard rail and the bike. I warmed up the tire, but when the tree turned green, I gave it too much throttle and the back tire spun out and headed me toward the left rail. I don't know how, but I managed to get back on the track and finish the run. And that was the end of that.

I don't want to take the cage because I don't want to think about a repeat or even having to buy new tires that much sooner.

Really? Cuz at the track I go to, if you run in the 13's, you have to wear a helmet...period...11's require a cage

Here it's 13.5 for a helmet and 11.5 for a roll cage. I have an extra helmet if anyone needs one.
