There's also a pipeline from Tampa to Orlando. The pipeline ends at Taft (by the Rachels near the international airport) and the trucks pick up the refined gasoline there and distribute it locally.

I'll give you one guess as to where the gasoline in Tampa comes from...

Well this morning that same gas station was $2.899 for regular. I filled the wife's Sequoia up there yesterday afternoon for $2.679 and got 18.721 gallons. Just broke $50 for the fill up.

LMAO! The only way your going to get hourly updates is if someone stands under the sign with a laptop and wireless connection!

Here is what I don't get.. I am no politician, but here me out:

Why can't we just spread a raise in gas prices ($0.05 on the gallon) around the entire nation? We are, in fact, "One nation, under god..." correct? I know this doesn't solve the immediate issue of refineries in the south east and whatnot, but why wouldn't the gov't step in and help out the nation? They can step in and throw billions to start, er save, some conflict in iraq, but they can't ease the swelling of our economy at this junction?

I don't consider myself to be knowledgable in all things politics, or economics for that matter, but to me there has to be a better way to handle this then letting the gas prices shoot up to $4, $5 or even $6 a gallon!

Socialism here we come. Some people make too much, we should spread the wealth, LOL. JK. Good ole supply and demand at it's best!
Naturally the price will go up due to the increased transportation costs involving not being able to ship it the normal way via pipelines. Artificially the price will go up because of panic and greedy merchants. IMHO.

Guys, my cousin is in Iraq on a six month rotation and he informed me that gas there is about $.34 a gallon. I guess it sucks to be us right now.

I think each and every one of us, including your cousin, would gladly pay $5.00 a gallon and be here in the US than pay $.34 in Iraq or $.20 in Venezuela.

I filled up with premium last night at Sam's Club for $2.79 a gallon. You might save the $35 or so annual fee for a Sam's membership in gasoline savings alone. Costco was about the same too.

I think that prices will stabilize somewhat in a few weeks once the supply gets going again. The petrolium industry is working on getting the supply routes back on line or rereouted.

$2.91 at Costco in Central WA State 92 Octane. Filled up last night because someone warned it was going up by $1 today.

Not sure of the validity of this, but just in case.

I am sure we will keep hearing stuff like this all the time. People love to talk.
