FYI Air in tires

we were wondering today how much the compressed air weighs in your tires, cause i was reading about people putting nitrogen i believe in their tires, on my oem 17's there was two pounds of air in each one. just a little information in case anyone was wondering ever.

everyday air is 70-80% nitrogen anyways, so i'm not sure why people would want to put pure nitrogen in their tires

because its a bigger molecule and doesnt seep out over time. there are some other reasons but thats all that i can think of right now
there is a thread on g35frenzy that tells more of it.

Dan, that's one benefit of running nitrogen. Another plus is that it doesn't expand/contract with temperature as widely as the typical air that we breathe. This helps the tires to maintain a set air pressure which in turn helps the tires to wear more evenly. It also is a slightly lighter molecule so I guess there is an added weight benefit, albeit small.
