Post Hurricane ***PICTURES***

Here are some pictures from right after the storm. My parents and I went and drove around the neighborhood and went on a couple roads. There all the traffic lights got blown off and i was about to put it in the trunk and then a cop came and ran me down and my dad floored it and we left. Powerlines were down poles snapped in half. It was a big mess. The Mcdonalds close to my house had all there windows blown out. This first picture is my favorite.

the first one really threw me for a loop. I am a florida native and have been through a lot of hurricanes and I don't recall ever seeing a palm blown over much less on someones car.

Foo you must be really lucky! Where do you live?

I've seen it this bad after several storms, three last year alone. It's always been the areas right around me that get the worst, but hit me dead on this time.

What a shame... all those beautiful old trees... glad you are safe though... that's the important thing.

It's amazing that the trees whose roots were strong enough to hold up in the wind lost some of their branches. The hurricane's winds broke the branches off in the middle of the tree. That's power.

Again... Glad you all are OK...

I grew up in Pcola and seen more tha my fair share of hurricanes and w have plenty of beach front propety. I live in Tampa now and have been very fortunate lately. I do not think I will ever leave tampa... great cigars, strong cafe con leches, beautiful beaches and none of the hurricane headaches I grew up with in the panhandle.

I have faily in coral springs and they have palms all around the place and the only tree they said came up were the old oaks. They just got power back yesterday the folks across the street and right next door had power for a few days already... that is torture but they have their lives though.

My aunt decided to put the hurricane shutters on sunday afternoon and said sh still had windows and doors flexing in. She had to move her couch to the french doors becasue they were close to busting open and they had shutters over them.

That storm moved so quickly over florida I'd hate to see what things would have looked like had it hovered over your area like it did in Mexico.

Our freinds in boynton beach lost their roof and the main mast on their sailboat. Luckily they were in miami and own another house that was not damaged. Also our friend's nephew in miami had the sliding glass door of his appartment blown out so he had to ride the storm out in his bedroom. It's amazing that st. pete/ tampa bay has not gotten a direct hit in something like 100 years. I'm worried cuase we are long over due up here.
