In most clubs the BOD meets openly.

Why are the BOD meetings/chats/forums secret in the FGC?

Why not make the BOD forum read only for all the members so we can see what is going on?

I cant even imagine what the parking lot is going to look like. Thank god my Yellow Beetle can be spotted easily

 

1) because I dont have the capability
2) because it will only cause problems by having 150 ppl starting threads and asking the board to do this and that. Its hard enough to have 9ppl agree let alone 150.

We appreciate new ideas in the form Tony has been doing (new threads) but then the BOD needs to take over and discuss things without worrying about 150members judging every post during discussions.

John, some of the matters are of a "personal nature". Issues of club members passing 'bad checks' that are brought to the BOD's attention, sponsors 'allegedly' ripping off other legit business, etc... All of these matters are things that the club members shouldn't be bothered with.

Also, the BOD has been very good IMO at receiving and using input from the club members. They've approached dealerships in SFL at the request of the club members, they've spoken with OI at the request of the club members and they've done quite a few other things at the individual request of club members.

The daily "goings on" are not issues that NEED to be made public. One example was when David M. was kicked out of the FGC. The BOD chose to handle that issue PRIVATELY. Another example is when they discuss club members who "misbehave" in the forums, etc...

The BOD needs a forum where they can hash out ideas w/o CONSTANTLY receiving feed back (reads criticism) and having to justify their every thought.

 

And to add:

Its a nice little perk for Directors to be able to talk about members behind their back with no recourse. hahahaha

Wes and Neff good points. I think it's best to allow members to post suggestions/ideas publically and have the BOD discuss them privately. The BOD are elected/appointed to do what's best for the FGC based on members suggestions.

it usually takes a good 24 hours for me to completely change positions to an earlier stance
