Thumbs up Mike's Radar Detector Mount

I purchased one of Mike's G35 radar detector mounts about six months ago. Several people at the last All Florida meet, and last night's Tampa mini meet, asked about the mount and wanted to know how to order one.

Mike originally made a mount for his personal 350z. So many people liked his mount that he started selling them. Later he started making mounts for G35's that are essentially the same as for the Z, but without the big "Z" engraved on the back side of the mount. He sells them for thirty dollars each, which includes postage. Mounts for other detectors might be a different price. Here's a picture of my car with one of Mike's mounts for the Valentine 1.

Mike's mount is sturdy and places the detector in the same plane of visiion as the rear view mirror... It's a nice piece.

Mike is not a member of G35driver, so you have to join my350z.com if you want to send him a private message. His my350z screen name is MIKE3348. If you want to skip the PM and just use PayPal, Mike's PayPal account is mike3348@adelphia.net.

I originally sent a PM on my350z and followed up with payment via PayPal. Everything went smoothly and I got the mount in about a week. I am not affiliated with Mike in any way... He makes a nice, reasonably priced product... I'm just happy to point others to it.

Very nice. When you have to "work" at the meets you get to miss most of the good stuff. No more of that!

Now, if I only had a V1 I'd be buying this thing in a heart beat. Does anyone know how to hard wire a radar detector in a Tacoma? I'll pay with free hamburgers, hot dogs and all the DORITOS you can handle...

Are the doritos a ploy to get Ian to help?

I got a mount from Mike over on 350Z as well for my hardwired Escort Passport. Works like a dream and definately looks much better than being stuck on the windshield. The detector still clips out so you can still transfer it to other vehicles and stick it on that windshield.

You're welcome.

Mike's mount should work as long as the diameter of your mirror support is the same as the G. I would be very surprised if the Premium G mirror wasn't exact same mirror used on the M.

I'll grab a calipers tonight and measure the diameter of my mirror. As long as yours is the same it should fit without any problems.

As an FYI for the .0000001% of us G owners that don't have the premium package, Mike's mount is not a direct bolt-on for the non-premium mirror. The diameter of the mirror mount post on the non-premium is bigger than the premium mirror post. However, Mike's mount is easy to modify with a motor tool to make it fit the non-premium.

Is this still true? Darn, the reason I spent the $20 was to keep myself from having to tool one. Too bad I didnt get mine in the mail today, won't know what I'll need to do until I get it. Flfire, what do you mean by motor tool? Dremel?
