Mine's not comming for a two weeks Something about distribution problems...... so bummed . But like Todd said, you need gauges + injectors + fuel pump too. Anyways a couple thing's that I think are cool about the UTEC is that has 5 maps you can pick from on the fly with a switch, and values input are exact values instead of scaling stock signals. It's also plug and play so no need for some additional harness and wiring. And a good point is that EU + everything you really need, makes the price difference become so small between the two, that the UTEC end's up being not that much more expensive. I think when I priced out the EU it was around 900ish for everything to make it plug and play, UTEC start's around there and all you need to do is get a map sensor. The Tuner Pro part give's you a wideband and knock sensor too.

Sounds to me like Ryan isn't ready to go FI with questions like he's been asking. I'd say stick w/ the exhaust.

I know of several people who wanted to go FI and got into it before they knew all the associated risks. Not a good position to be in. Heck, even I didn't understand how important it was to have all of my mods insured... :rolleyes"

yeah as far as the UTEC goes it was designed specifically for the VQ. it is a fully plug and play unit with no need to cut or splice into any of the factory wires, it allows you to map the fuel curve from 500-rev limit rpms, every 250 rpms in over 10 different load sites. it also has a MAF interception option that you can adjust the MAF signal +-50%, and with the MAF sensor, it reconizes when you are driving (daily driving) around and uses all the factory settings, then under a more serious load switches to the UTEC allowing you to control the injector width up to 10Xs

i believe with the other EMU you still need to get a reflash to raise your rev limiter up but this has an option of doing that, that alone would cost you an extra $600 for the reflash.

also has a switch that allows you to change between 5 different already programed settings. say 1 is your daily driver, 2 Naturally Aspirated racing mode 3 Nitrous and so on...

it has a fully logging function that logs rpm, map, maf voltage, tps, load site, afr, ignition timing, injector duty cycle, modified fuel (fuel control) and more

and of course it has full timing adjustability and knock control

has an option that 3d maps spare solenoids (nitrous, water injection)

programmable shift light

free software upgrading for the website

and as far as actually programming, i am told that it is easy to learn how to do using a lap top, this i am not sure but i will let you know really soon, i think i am ordering mine in about 3 weeks, it comes pre loaded with 5 different maps according to what you say your mods are, then you will just need to fine tune it around them....

hope this helps at all and i will know more about it after i receive mine...

Man, that is awesome! I'd love to get a chance to look at it once you get it installed.

Seems to be the best of all worlds...

It's a slim to none chance of me going through with all this. I agree with you that I do not know all of what I would need to know to be comfortable about going FI. It's just something I have been thinking a lot about lately...and peer pressure from some guys at work. Plus I haven't washed my car since Thanksgiving...so I am sure when I wash my car, I will appreciate my wheels once again.
