Sean posted a message in the Main All-Florida Meet thread about getting his car ready for the Meet. I figured a bunch of us are getting our cars ready too, so I thought I'd start a new thread.

I ordered some Zaino Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss and it came in last Thursday. I washed my wheels and tires on Thursday night and put the Z-16 on Friday morning. I waited about two hours then ran a few errands on the way to work. Here are a couple of pictures I took this afternoon (Sunday).

I only put one coat of Z-16 on my tires. The Zaino instructions say you can put on two coats if you want a glossier finish. I like a jet-black satin finish, not a dripping-wet-looking finish, so I went with one coat. I use a little $3.95 RubberMaid tool that's made to put tire dressing on tires. Worked great... It took about ten minutes to do the whole car. I backed the car up so I could do the bottoms of the tires (they were too close to the pavement).

I drove home Friday night in the rain and it didn't seem to wash any of the Z-16 off. It also didn't sling off when I drove to work. I like the shine that it gives my tires, and the Zaino Brothers say it won't turn my tires brown like the other stuff I used to use. I think it's a keeper!

I used the zaino for the tires. I dont know was not that impressed but will try it again. I have the whole kit but I never have time to do it since my car is always in the shop. I hope to have it out before sat. As usual I always get it out at the last min. The las Ale house meet if you look closely at the pics. my car rims were black.

 

I agree with Jose. I haven't found a Zaino product I don't like yet. I've had bad luck with tire detailing on other cars... some of them turned my tires brown. I wanted to wait until I did more research before choosing a product for my G.

I have also used Meguiars Endurance High Gloss gel. It was too gooey... glossy for me. I think I'm in the minority in that I don't like the gooey, liquid look. It is a good product though.

I hope you get your car out of the shop in time for the Meet, Steve. I'm looking forward to seeing it and snapping a few pictures.

Now I'm off to wash my G before it rains, put on a coat of Z-2, and a coat of Z-8. I might go for another coat if my arms hold up.

 

I haven't tried Zaino's tire shine. I like Meguirs High Gloss Hot Shine works great but it will give you a wet look.

Today's my 1 year anniversary and I told the wife I would spend the day with her. She fell asleep watching a movie, time to Zaino.

 

JB do you remember which tire dressings turned your tires brown? I usually don't like to try Autozone/Pepboys products on my car, but I haven't gotten around to ordering some more Zaino stuff. I like the wet look but I'm too lazy to use a gel plus I hate how it slings off the tires and makes a mess. I've been using this No Touch spray and it's alright, not too shiny but it doesn't last at all.

The G is looking purdy, is that how it looks like after 3 days of driving since Friday? If I posted a pic of my car you'd be like, holy brake dust Batman

I tried to get my car ready for the meet this morning, but got caught in a big down pour! Looks like I will be leaving work early on Friday to shine up the G. Sure hope the weather is better next week!
