2005 sedan A/T Aluminum Shift Plate Removal Help

I need to replace the brushed aluminum shift plate that is in my 2005 Sedan with A/T and the wood package. It got messed up and I want to purchase and replace it with a new one. I have searched for a DIY post, and I have not been able to find out how that little piece of S**T comes off. Can someone offer assistance or post some photos, if you have any? It would be a great help.

I don't want to try it without some ideas, because I would hate to mess up the wood in the process.

use a butter knife with a towel, slide it under the part of the console that is closest to the back seat. pry upwards until you hear a couple of pops and can get your fingers underneath. start pulling the "back" part that you just pried up, toward the roof of the car.

if that doesn't make sense, let me know i'll try to explain it better

do you mean start at the spot before the cupholders and start pulling up from there?

thanks
