Two interesting Supercharger ideas.
The first is a supercharger with a two speed transmission. This would result in increased performance depending on the speed. Check this out.

The second idea is to have an on/off swith for it similar to the car in "Mad Max: The Road Warrior" This would allow you to turn it on anytime you need the power and off for fuel economy.
