theyve had it for 8 months now... A lotta down time but hes hooking it up with labor cost which I WAS EXPECTING TO BEGIN WITH. I just want to remedy the situation now and not think of the $hitty past. It is an auto... Theyve pulled out the tranny and checked the flex plate but everything seems ok there.

ive had my tt kit on there for a while and no problems. This problem started when the car went back for the nitrous install. I drove the car around when I built my motor and no problems. I took it back and had Speed Force do my nirtous, alighn the tranny and do some powder coating in the engine bay. The sensors just gave up and we played around with replacing the old with the new.

DId you say they shielded the cam wire. How did they connect the ground and power leads to the new shielded cam wire, assumign they ran a separate one (with three leads in it). REmember that these cars have differential grounds for each sensor, including the cam/crank sensors. If you just attach the ground to some regular ol' ground spot, it will behave exactly like you say. Why would you ever use the POS SS box anyway.... shops and their "preferred" EM choices. Noone does their homework. It's M-M, HKS, AEM, Utec/eManage Ultamate, Unichip, ...... , SS. I remember how Steve's car ran after Tim put on the SS box....5 degrees of timing advance. It's jsut plain unreliable (the SS), assuming the person installing them knows the box, which Tim does I believe.

Another possibility, nitrous install requires the throttle position sensor tap in, correct (for the full throttle switch). Tapping into that kind of a line with a device that was poorly engineered (e.g. not high enough impedence), is asking for trouble. To find out the problem, you need to do evidence-based troubleshooting, and stop taking the car from place to place. Get Cipher, makesure you log all the channels, and just drive the car. When it hicks up, go back to the logs and see what's acting up.

BTW... don't forget to disconnect you nitrous solenoid and the throttle tap (or any other tap, like RPM).

If i was the tech i would too. Those kind of problems turns out to be more work for a tech even if he charges 4 hours to try to find it...

Bro could be a bad ground when you went back to do the power coating or the nitrous set-up...Trace the wires back from the crank senor and make sure you didn't pinch any wires. Does it the code set right away?

Well I think the responses in this thread have pretty much covered what needs to be said. Just go back to where you started having problems and go from there.
Side note, Gurgen knows his shiet!! This guy has been through more then anyone I know with these cars. I have a lot to learn still! But thanks!
