AAM oil pan spacer question for vortech
AAM oil pan spacer question for vortech
I'm wanting to get a oil pan spacer when I install the vortech but I'm not sure what else I need to make it work. The vortech kit comes only with a 3/8 NPT x 1/2 fitting and 1/2" oil drain hose. My concerns are the the pre drill holes in the AAM oil spacers are bigger than the 3/8NPT fitting provided in the vortech kit. Anyone know how big the holes in the spacers are and what extra fittings do I need to make this work with the 3/8 NPT fitting?
Also, I see a lot of turbo guys using 45 to 90 degree fittings with the drain line but the vortech didnt come with anything like this. Is it better to have a 45/90 degree angle fitting or is the straight fitting just as good for the vortech kit?
I also know that AAM makes the oil braid lines for the spacers but they also told me its only for turbo ppl bc they had some ppl experiencing blower issues with their lines (maybe bc the lines drain too fast out).

I dont know for sure since I've never installed one the spacers your talking about. But I have installed a vortech kit. You should be able to just hook up the drain hose to the fitting on the spacer.

What he's saying is the sizes are different. Pharm Im going to be getting my kit here soon. I will test everything and get back to you. Sharif told me I may have to use different fittings to the SC.
I have an unused JWT spacer that I need to get rid of, if you're interested. It doesn't have any pre-existing ports, so you can drill and tap it for whatever size you need instead of using reducers and/or elbows.
