how quiet is the vortech?

i heard it was quiet, but when they say quiet does this mean u cant even tell the car is sc'd?

very noisey at idle,try going thru a burger drive thru and everybody looking at you sayiing whats wrong with this car.but it does get very good power.

The Vortech is a centrifugal type SC. OEM SCs are twin screw or roots type because they don't make that much noise (relatively). Lol, mine sounds like a truck at times. If you're not ready for it get a Stillen (twin screw) but you'll need a new hood for spacing. Advantages/disadvantges of both have been discussed to death here.

raise the idle and u fix the rattling problem for vortech.

yes raising the idle helps.
But you can definitely tell that you have something in there...its not quiet like stock...but quieter than some other F/I engines I've heard.

oh it's fine, if you can't stand a little SC noise, you shouldn't be thinking of modifying cars in the first place. Almost everything you do to the car's power makes some louder extra noise/volume - yeah yeah, except for a turbo

It's not that loud, but then again I am very use to loud cars. But really it's not that loud.

Bypass valve is the loudest part..

the vortech comes with a BOV standard - a loud aggressive one

If you search supercharger bypass valve youll come up with many posts about swapping BOVs. There's some good reads!
