Why new spark plugs?

I am getting an aps st this friday, but the guys at Gtmotorsport say that i need to get new spark plugs?

Why is this? im not questioning their decisions, just the reason for having new ones in the first place.

P.S.---> i cant wait!1

Get one heat range colder plugs. iridiums last longer but copper have a better spark. your mechanic is right. most forced inducted cars need at least one heat range colder plugs. not sure of the reasoning but i'm sure if you check around you will find your answer. i have a aps st and i am using one heat range colder right now.

Yeah. New spark plugs which are one step colder. Since running in a pressurized environment tends to make things run hotter. A colder spark plug will let the heat dissipate faster from the electrode and thus prevent a hot spot from forming in the combustion chamber and reduce the chance of detonation.
