Spending lots of $$$ to make it fast
Speaking of money....right now, my car is still a little less than a 330 and I just walked one by 3 car lengths. The G is a good value by any standards.
Try and get semi luxury and supercar performance another way for 70K.

Oh, if you want luxury, add in another few hundred for heated seats
Um, not certain what you guys have been watching - if properly built for your desired application it is a BEAST on the auto-x. Hell, it seems the vast majority of cobra owners are auto-x'rs, not drag racers.
There is never any "rationale" for blowing money on a car... its just blowing money because people enjoy doing it, its not an investment, there is no good reason to do it, but people do it because they want to...
My wife thinks I am crazy to do all this to my car, I told her I wouldn't do it again after spending 30k on my VR4 but here I am doing it all over again......must have a screw loose somewhere.

I mean they were respectable but any car that you build for a specific application should excel at it.

I see this kind of statement all the time from people attempting to justify how much they are spending, or how much they saved versus brand X. The porche cayman is a recent example. I don't care if you spend $100k on your car, it will never drive like the vette, or the cayman.
But that doesn't matter. I'd like to spend that kind of money on my car. I'd love an 11 second sedan, with possibly a few body mods to the rear(larger fender flares, bigger wheels out back). It would be almost wholly unique. But it would still be a g35 sedan.

I agree, or thats how i explained it too my wife!
modding at least keeps me busy...the most i could reasonably spend is 20-25K. if not, i'll be out car shopping for a new M5 or when the GTR comes out. So spend 25K in mods or new car for $70-100K??? i'll save money....

Everyone talks about VALUE, LOOKS, and PERFORMANCE, but no one ever mentions the actual complete DRIVING EXPERIENCE, which is the true "soul" of the car.
This includes everything like the sound of the reverse gear, the reflections of the headlights/taillights on a wall, the precise position of the main cupholder, the comfort of the armrests, the enjoyability of going for a cruise, the looks on peoples faces when they look at your car (not just what the car looks like), the sound of the doors closing, the fact that the trunk lid has instructions on how to fit 2 golf bags
(I'm a golfer) and obviously this list could go on and on and on.
I bought a G35 for its SOUL. I didn't buy a BMW because it seems to have more of a 'business man/lawyer' soul. I've never driven a Z06 but I am guessing it has almost no soul based on every other American car I've been in.
Anyhow just wanted to post about this cause I've seen a billion similar threads with no mention of the car's personality or soul.

You may have something there. However, I seriously doubt that one can toss the C6 Z06 into the ring with every other American car . . . But then again, I could be quite wrong.
