after-market turbos illegal? CARB?

Just wondering if it's illegal just to have an after-market turbo in your G, not taking smog and stuff into account. I mean can cops cite you just because you have an after-market turbo under the hood?

Is that what CARB cert is for?

carb is for california but cops can give u a ticket even if its carb legal.

that must suck... so what the heck do you do? Take the turbo off then put it back on after they check it?
