It is not a blow off valve on the Vortech. It is a bypass vale. They work differently.

Correct as always - Some have swapped out the vortech bypass valve with a blow off valve, but it is not recommended at all.

here is a question. why would you need a bov for a supercharger? isn't the purpose for a bov to keep the turbo spinning at high revs (lower backpressure) during shifts when the gas pedal is lifted while shifting? why would you need one when the supercharger is turned by a pulley and supercharger revs remain the same no matter what the backpressure?

I use the mondo for
A) sound
B) looks
C) Will be driving T-Trim with 2.87 pulley which makes much higher boost than the SQ.

The bypass is only needed if boost is above 8 psi

i'm asking bc i'm going to be changing out to the 2.87 pulley but I was hoping to use the same bypass valve. Is that okay tho.

You still need to release that pressurized air in the intake tube between the blower and throttle body when you are off the gas.

Im still using the original BOV with my T-trim blower . No problems . Called Vortech and asked if the bigger BOV. was needed and was assured It wasnt

Brent..How much boost you making ? Belt slip up top ?

My belt slips around 13 to 14psi...from 5900rpm to redline . When its hot out , PSI can get to 14.9 sometimes

For now I have only let the it rev to 6000rpm need dyno time the boost is about the same as you. I have 3" piping from blower right to throttle body and a 25X13X3.5 intercooler so blower outlet pressure should be lower.
