Sounds like an advertisement, huh? I was wondering if any manufacturers have produced a kit for our vehicles yet. I checked ZEX, and they don't list anything. I am looking to do a 75-100 shot. Nothing crazy, but I want something designed specifically for our vehicles/engines if possible. Just a little "get-up-and-go" to surprise passengers/BMW's. Anyone? (I did do a search)

Use the ZEX 350Z kit...It's the same motor...If you are planning other mods do those and get the TechnoSquare ECU

Nah, he's just a know-it-all.[img]/w3timages/icons/laugh.gif[/img] J/K SnM. I prefer the Nitrous Express personally, lifetime warranty on the solenoids. But the Zex is easier to hook up if you have never done one before.

Search the posts, tons of info. Also try the big bad nitrous post on my350z.com. People are running up to 200-shots. JuicedCoupe is getting 144 to the rear wheels. I am spraying a 135-shot on my g35 sedan 6mt, no problem. I am running the zex kit, its the third car I have zex on, super easy install. Make sure you search all the threads and know what's going on before you get it.

 

belerin- Is the zex kit you bought a generic kit, or is it made specifically for our engine? I did a search on this site, but I will look at the 350z site too.

LOL Merlin...I prefer the NX kit as well...I don't care for Holley's NOS kit, but the ZEX is pretty simple, as has been pointed out...The only thing I haven't settled on as far as an opinion is Venom...I like the idea behind it, but I don't know anyone that's used it...

Guys ... whats the deal with spraying on the AT?. I never had that done on any car and really dont know much about it. I figure if I decided to do it, I would get a 100 shot. Any info you can give me would be much appreceated.

ZEX has a dry kit but I would not recommend it on our cars. One reason is that with the pension for our ECM to want to revert to the factory program based on current readings. I would definitely not take the chance. The only worries I have are on the strength of our internals, but that is being tested by others [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img] and the air velocity mixing of N2O and gas through our manifold so as to not have one or more cylinders run lean.

Auto tranny should do well, just lift your foot a little at shift points.

I'd rather not expound here on wet and dry nitrous...BUT, as luck would have it, HCI magazine has an article comparing wet to dry, and the dyno results...Great point by Merlin, by the way...I recommend upgrading internals if you're going to squeeze, but that's just me- I love upgrading

If you want easy, I don't think you want a dry kit.

Re: ATs, I've read that you don't even need to lift your foot between shifts, which is why AT is preferable to MT for nitrous in terms of safety. The AT pretty much cuts your throttle by itself between shifts (otherwise you'd hear the engine screaming at high rpms before the new gear is engaged). You should probably confirm that part when you order though, since each company handles the WOT trigger differently.
