Forced Induction options

Well its time... I am ready to move forward with the G. I've had her about 2 months and am ready for some sort of forced induction... driving it is pleasurable, but I've been spoiled with powerband of my STI.

So the question are, what options to I have... any kits to stay away from... is turbo or sc better suited for the vq35?

Are there any street legal (california CARB) kits? I'd prefer to not have to swap everything back to stock for emissions testing etc.

What are some realistic goals for the hp range of vq35 on stock internals. I am really shooting for more power up high. Stock it feels like its got some power and tq down low, but upper rpms feel like it falls flat on its face.

Also common caveats in the process I should be aware of on the G35? Thanks for all the advice.
