Ok to use 440 injectors w/ basic Vortech kit?

Buddy of mine upgraded to 750 injectors and has the 440's laying around. Can I use them with my basic Vortech kit? I don't plan on changing out the pulley, but if they're available might as well throw them in there right?

Unless YOU or a shop near you knows how to scale injectors properly, I wouldn't do it. The SS box cannot scale injectors so it's up to the ECU to do it and you need someone very experienced to be able to do it correctly. Otherwise, your fuel trim might get pegged and you'll be blowing dried carbon chunks out your tailpipe.

Are you going to be using the SS box and the Vortech FMU?

is that directed towards me? I never made a comment about a "friend" lol

This actually happened to me when I had the Vortech, but it was under different circumstances. My cog pulley was messed up so we took out the blower and ran a filter on the end of the pipe. Well, I left my lights on once and killed my batt overnight and when I jumped my car the next day my fuel trim was all messed up and I was blowing white smoke out of my pipes as well as dried chunks of carbon after driving all day. It was technically my fault because I got on it a little too much and with no boost there, the ECU didn't know what to do with all of the fuel.

I think you need to upgrade your FMU when running bigger injectors. If im right then its just the FMU disc and runs about ~$30.

I agree about a better FMU, But you might as well get a new ecu while your at it because once you start changing your internals your going to need it.

I would hold on to the 440's for later . WHy fix something that isnt broken ? Later if you start having problems with the fuel system [ FMU , pump , or injectors ] you have the 440's on hand to install .
If plans are to keep the stock pulley on...no need for them and no extra money spent making the 440's work .

Yeah I'm thinking just hold on to them for when I actually have money to upgrade it right. I'll probably eventually go with a different pulley and upgraded fuel system & engine management.
