Supercharger or turbocharger

I am thinking to put Supercharger or turbocharger on my G. Which one is better? and what's the price range for both?

Thanks

turbocharger for sure, well IMO they stress the engine less and produce better results...do research and see what its more for you!!! good luck

Turbos stress the engine more and this topic has been debated to

OP: please search...each one has pros and cons and you need to pick one to suit your needs and wants

turbo's are vastly superior and more reliable, but a little more complicated. sp are easy to use, give you direct throtle response in terms of boost, but tend to break when pushed and you're pretty much stuck with a standard power level with not much room for extra psi.

Could you please explain to me how a supercharger is more prone to "breaking"?

Supercharger or turbocharger they are both good depend on your set up. I myself love the sound of the BOV from a turbocharger. What hp range are you looking for?

Many, many, many variables in this evaluation.
1. How much can you spend?
2. What are your goals for hp(which will depend on your budget)?
3. Daily Driver or not?

For starters...Then you should go over these questions with a reputable shop thats going to do the work.

Good luck...no matter what BOOSTED is great.

simply put:

Turbos are expensive, more difficult to install because of the exhaust plumbing, big boost has lag, add more heat in the engine bay compared to superchargers...however they cause less parasitic loss and are therefore more efficient.

Superchargers only have one negative compared to turbos, they use more HP to run. They are cheaper, less complicated, no lag, more durable (don't give me the diesel argument...diesels run at much lower RPMs), and some even come with a warranty (stillen roots).

I suppose it depends on what turbo system you are putting on. I don't think a single turbo kit would be particularly harder than any of the SC kits.
Big boost might have lag but so would sizing a Vortech for big boost. Heat. I think you are pretty correct there. Same with the efficency

SCs IMHO are more complicated than turbos. Turbos are really very simple. Typically less to rebuild than a SC. Only certain types of SCs don't feature lag. Roots/Eaton types I believe. Vortech won't build appreciable boost until you run it xxx rpms first. I don't know about the reliablity either. Many factory turbo engines are running the stock turbo for well over 100,000 miles. Even longer
