Vortech Belt Broke

Hey guys,
My belt broke on my vortech. The small one that sits right above the vortech. It doesn't spool up anymore cuz it broke. I need to buy a new one from Vortech but I have no idea what the official name or part number is?
I have the Vortech kit for an 5AT G35 Coupe.

ANy help will be much appreciated.

Wow, what a coincidence. Mine broke last night as well. How old was your belt? Did your physically break in half or did the teeth just get chewed off? Did you do any hard runs that night?

Ok so I got the Gates 6008MGT20 belt from a nearby industrial store and I'm getting it today.

How do I put it on? Just unbolt the pulley and put it on? That simple?

Dont mean to be mean , but if you cant figure something so simple as putting on that belt . Take to a shop . You just need to look at it for less than 10 seconds to tell how it goes on and off .

I understand that. But sometimes things are more difficult than they seem. But I basically just wanted to reconfirm, unbolt the pulleys, slip the belt on, and that's it. No special lubricant or heating of the belt is necessary?

You have to loosen the tensioner pulley AND climb under the car and loosen the tension bolt. There should be a DIY thread somewhere on here or my350z from quite a while ago showing step by step. It is VERY simple.

Install new belt (Belt diagram is in the vortech installation manual and can be found on vortech website in .pdf form), tighten bottom tension bolt, and then tighten pulley.

The only pain is removing the bottom plastic engine protector. Simple, but a pain in the a$$ with all the bolts. Many of us have just cut a 2" hole where the tension bolt is and then you do not need to take off the cover at all.

Good luck.

Check page 17 (for 2006) for belt routing here:http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...s/4NZ218im.pdf

Wow, you had 30k on that belt! That is very good for a SC belt.

He's talking about the cog belt, not the main drive serpentine belt. All you need to do is unbolt the top pulley, put new belt on, and replace pulley as tight as possible.
