I'm going to recheck the wiring tomorrow night, but anyone have ideas which wires might be off in the wiring of a split second box w/ Vortech?

 

Mine used to come on after a dyno tune but then after I drove the car awhile it would turn off.

 

How is the idle?

Did you splice into the the Ecu?

Well there are two wires that are almost the same color. They both look orange.

 

Idle is fine. I used a harness. I'll check those orange wires.

 

All wiring checks out okay. i'm using a harness to tap into all the wiring. The car won't drive over like 2400rpm w/o jerking, so I can't really drive over 60mph max.

Could it be a bad SS box? I unplugged the harness and the VDC/SLIP lights turn off if I just use the factory ECU w/o the split second.

What all did you install with the vortech.

 

+1 and who did the install?? You might want to take it back to whoever installed it and have them take a look at it.

 

i have heard of the ss box failing. Based on what happens after u unplugged it, and based on the fact that you are using the wiring harness, i can almost say that its guaranteed to be your ss box.

 

I installed it. I'm pretty sure it's the SS box, since unplugging it turns off the VDC/SLIP lights.

 

Let us know what you find!! I'm sure they'll replace the SS box (if its new) for free.

 

Did you remember to reset your ECU after everything was installed?? You could be in limp mode.

 

Yeah I'm in limp mode.The ECU was reset (battery unplugged) the whole time the Vortech was being installed. The SS box and Vortech are both used. Trying another reset tonight after the car has been running for a few days.

 

What was the outcome?

 

Got a used SS box from SKYLINE_GT and installed it last Friday. Works perfect...now need to get it tuned.
