Thanks everyone for your imputs. I really need to get down to it so Could someone in detail tell me some figuers like sizes and what kind of gauges would work with the center conscel?

g35man04 10-25-2007 08:31 PM

you want stealth

I posted this before - ZcarGarage did it - works great - gauges that are hidden in the nav section with hidden switch to rise and lower -

Thats nice...did they take the nav screen out and put in the gauges? Or is it a completely custom build?

Hi - there was no stock nav - used an aftermarket motorized LCD screen product. Have since installed a Pioneer Z1 and it's a great combo. Works for me.

I have mine on the side of the console where the cig lighter was. it's not visible from outside unless you're looking down into the car so it's hidden well. It is a bit low and you need to take your eyes off the road but I didn't want anything that would be visible from outside the car. Even from the passenger seat you can't see the whole thing just a portion of the faces. It's a pretty good location and it's not like I'm staring at the them all the time, I just wanted something to occasionally check on things and for that purpose it works out well. I look at placing them in several locations but didn't want to give up any storage (cubby hole, ash tray, glove box...) and didn't want it up ontop of the dash so this is about the only place I was left with.

there are a million ways to hide your gauges but I'm amazed how you guys find these places. I mean some of them you can't even see their own gauges without turning their head 180deg. I have an A-pillar and still have a hard time looking at them when WOT. Anyways, I give you guys props for creativity!

All of these solutions are custom jobs. Just buy another plastic finisher from the dealer and take it to a local shop to fabricate what you want. It's going to cost, but you will have a unique solution that you will be happy with for years to come.
